Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

person at beach at sunset

The goal of psycholytic ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is to offer a reprieve from suffering, existential pain and feeling stuck in circular loops. In a gentle and grounded way this powerful tool opens access to exploration and connection, through subtly altered states of consciousness, to your own inherent wisdom and healing capacity.

In the relaxed and receptive state attained with a prescribed dose determined by your doctor, we create space to discover new perspectives on thoughts and experiences. This state of enhanced awareness fosters insight and self-discovery which, when partnered with Internal Family Systems Therapy, provides a powerful therapeutic opportunity.

Healing with Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAP)

For many, KAP provides quick relief from severe symptoms of depression, anxiety and PTSD through ketamine’s rapidly-acting and mood-enhancing effects. Yet goals go far beyond symptom relief, incorporating coming into one’s own healing intelligence, and making use of internal resources with increased discernment, creativity, flexibility, and problem solving skills. Experiencing expanded states of consciousness promotes returning to wholeness, restoration of self respect, meaning and purpose, new ways of thinking. KAP helps individuals engage in their lives with more courage, clarity, and calm (Self-energy).

Ketamine helps us experience a softening of our usual reactive and protective states while still maintaining conscious awareness. It helps us engage more fully with formerly ostracized parts of ourselves, creating an opening for personal discovery, growth, healing and lasting change.

Ketamine’s biological mode of action is understood to be an NMDA antagonist working through the glutamate neurotransmitter system, fostering greater neuroplasticity. Working as a psychedelic medicine, it induces non-ordinary states of consciousness. Insight and long-lasting change, adaptive thinking patterns and healthier emotional responses - healing at the source - is born from these experiences.

Getting Started

I offer KAP in partnership either with a reputable local clinic specializing in KAP or with an organization called Journey Clinical*. I take on the psychotherapy portion of the experience, while the clinic or Journey Clinical’s medical team supports you with all the medical aspects. This includes determining eligibility, developing a custom treatment plan, prescribing the medicine and monitoring outcomes.

Where Do We Begin?

  1. Set up an appointment for an Assessment with me.
  2. Connect with Journey Clinical or another clinic specializing in KAP if we determine KAP might be a good fit.
  3. Attend one or more Prep Sessions with me to explore the parts you are bringing to the medicine as well as housekeeping tasks related to your journey.
  4. Journey day.
  5. Meet for one or more Integration Sessions to explore your journey and all that you are taking from that experience.
  6. Follow up with on-going psychotherapy.

I look forward to accompanying you on your journey
